Come hear my new band at Witzend this Wednesday night at 10pm. We’re called Big In Bremen, and I think we’ve got a pretty cool sound.

BIG IN BREMEN is Mrs. Hobbs on accordion, Kesh on guitar, Marty (of Fogelfoot) on trumpet, Masha (of Authentic Sounds of Silverlake, Free Range Orkestar, and Killsonic) on trombone, and Dvoraka La (of Forkroot) on violin, with 4 out of 5 dentists…oops I mean members… singing. Folk, gypsy, celtic, spaghetti western, international smorgasbord.

You should definitely come at 9pm to hear Marty’s other band, Fogelfoot too, as they’re America’s Only Band (luckily our band isn’t about America, since we’re big in Bremen). I heard Chapa a while ago and dug it, so if you can get there at 8pm, come get your money’s worth with a full night of music. Expecting freshness from Juice at 11pm.

And if you haven’t been to Witzend, you should come check it out. It’s one of the warmest sounding music rooms around with good sound, food & cocktails, and a good vibe!

Bohemian Shindig

I’m excited to announce that my new band
HAND PUMP will play our first gig EVER this Friday at the Bohemian Shindig. 
We have Masha Petrowilzky (of Authentic Silverlake Sound, Free Range Orkestar, and Killsonic) on trombone, Marty Barrett (of Fogelfoot and recently The Turgidaires) on trumpet and melodica, Kesh Chugai on guitar and ukelele, and yours truly, Mrs. Hobbs, on accordion, of course. We’ll all be lending our voices to the mix too. The music is an eclectic mix of originals and covers, ranging from gypsy to celtic to folk.

We’ll be playing for a half hour at 9:00pm, and there’s also over 20 other bands on 3 stages, more than 20 visual artists, and a magic artist to boot. So come on out on Friday and witness the birth of HAND PUMP. And be sure to say you’re there to see HAND PUMP at the door please.
