The Parish Room is so cool with relief sculptures of the legends of the Blues looking down from the tented ceilings and all the ornate rugs & tapestries. It really can be an oasis in the midst of the whole Sunset Blvd scene, which personally isn’t my thing. Favorite part of the night: Pamela Shaffer singing and playing the ukelele in the middle of the room with no amplification, drawing everyone in with her sweetness (despite sounds from the next room seeping through). Other highlights: Justine Kragen & Rebecca Stout’s robot-like dance, playing accordion on Edward Herda’s Juliette and Romeo, and Kesh Chugai singing in Russian.
